Dani Nathanson, owner of Softgood Studio, has seven years of fashion industry experience and holds a B.F.A. in fashion design from Pratt Institute in Brooklyn, NY. She has created everything from hand-beaded gowns at Pratt to wearable robots at Harvard University. She also holds a master's in business from Harvard University School of Extension Studies.

After working for activewear powerhouses Reebok and New Balance, Dani realized she wanted to apply her design skills in the overlap of fashion and science, which is how she ended up as a designer of wearable robotic devices in a lab at the Wyss Institute at Harvard University. Here, Dani realized her strengths are conceptualization of new ideas and building with her hands, which led her to start Softgood in 2021.

Dani's passion remains the overlap of fashion and science, so what sets Softgood apart from other design studios and tailoring shops is Dani's ability to execute research and highly individualized design of textile-based products for populations like the elderly and disabled, as well as to provide consulting for complex design challenges unique to academia, start-ups, and innovation teams within large firms.
